Watson-Glaser assessment: every task explained

Tasks

Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking

Measures: Critical thinking. Length: 30 min, 40 rounds.

Inferences, assumptions, deductions, interpretations and arguments: judge each claim strictly from the passage.

Format: 40 items in five sections: inference (rated from true to false), recognising assumptions, deduction, interpretation and evaluating arguments. Timing: 30 minutes in most versions. Tactics: each section has its own rule, so read its instructions: deduction asks what must follow, interpretation what follows beyond reasonable doubt. For assumptions, ask whether the statement still makes sense without it. A strong argument is important and directly about the question, even if you disagree.
