Arctic Shores assessment: every task explained
Task-based behavioural assessment; there are no right answers to learn, so practise staying calm and consistent.
Tasks
Balloon
Measures: Risk tolerance and learning. Length: 45 rounds.
P pumps the balloon and adds money; Q banks it. A pop loses what is not banked.
Direction
Measures: Focus and control. Length: 80 rounds.
Answer the direction of the centre arrow with Q (left) or P (right). When the sides are X's, do not press.
Tickets
Measures: Task switching. Length: 80 rounds.
Ticket at the top: is the number even? At the bottom: does the shape have corners? Q = no, P = yes.
Tiles
Measures: Sequence memory. Length: set by the employer.
Repeat the blue tiles in the order they lit; ignore the orange flashes.
Security
Measures: Timing and persistence. Length: 10 rounds.
Energy
Measures: Learning under shifting odds. Length: 50 rounds.
Activate generators to gain energy. Each colour has hidden odds, and positions shuffle: follow the colour.
Predict
Measures: Probabilistic learning. Length: 60 rounds.
Each card makes sun or rain more likely; forecast the weather and learn from the outcomes which cards to trust.
Team Sales
Measures: Cooperation versus competition. Length: 12 rounds.
Each round, set a High or Low price against a rival who reacts to what you did; aim for the most points over all rounds.
Expressions
Measures: Emotion recognition. Length: 50 rounds.
Pick which of the seven basic emotions the face shows.
Balance
Measures: Deductive reasoning. Length: 20 rounds.
Use the balanced scales to work out how heavy each shape is, then add shapes to balance the last scale.
Order
Measures: Inductive reasoning. Length: 20 rounds.
Shape, colour, size, turn and position each follow a rule across the frames; work out the next frame.
Patterns
Measures: Abstract reasoning. Length: 17 min, 20 rounds.
Choose which of five squares comes next in the sequence.
Token Search
Measures: Spatial working memory. Length: set by the employer.
Open boxes to find each hidden token. A box never holds a token twice, so remember where you have found them and where you have looked.
Not confirmed in the current battery.
